THE Nankersey Male Voice Choir from Flushing, near Falmouth, will be helping the members and friends of Delabole Methodist Church to celebrate their 154th chapel anniversary on Sunday, March 12.
It is not often that the choir visits North Cornwall, although it is one of Cornwall’s best male voice choirs at the present. The choir has some 45 members and is conducted by Mrs Elaine Tangye, who is well known in Cornwall choir circles.
The choir will be supported by Roger Nicholls, from Boscastle, as the guest soloist for the evening.
The church hopes that many people from the area will join them for this special evening, which starts at 7.30pm, preceded by a Songs of Praise at 6pm.
The anniversary celebrations commence at 11am, with a celebration service led by Mrs Sue Ede, followed by a celebration roast beef lunch, for which places are limited and need to be booked in advance.
A spokesman said: “Our anniversary day is always an enjoyable day, although for many of us, a busy one! We look forward to friends sharing with us.”
