THE Rotary clubs of Holsworthy, Bude and Bideford Bridge are collaborating to support Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016.

Works will soon be starting on the renovation of a bathroom at the charity’s Little Bridge House hospice near Barnstaple and the clubs have raised funds, including a grant of £900 from their District 1175 Foundation, as a contribution towards the cost.

At the Holsworthy club’s ‘President’s Night’ celebrations at the Falcon Hotel in Bude on Saturday, April 1, a cheque for £5,750 was presented to Suzanne Brown, a member of the care team at Little Bridge House.

Additional funds of £1,200 have already been raised and donated by the Bude club from the sale of commemorative butterflies supplied by the hospice.

During the rest of the year Rotarians will also be assisting at events and activities organised by the charity, including maintenance of he grounds and premises, and supporting staff and supporters at the Hartland Heartbreak run on April 30.
