Budehaven introduces app for students and parents

By The Post in Local People

BUDEHAVEN has provided its students and parents with an app to benefit the school community.

The school has provided invaluable digital platforms for parents and carers to pay online for lunches, trips and learning resources via the School Gateway App and website, via a special username and password access to ensure confidentiality.

However, the school is always looking for new ways in which to make communications with the school more accessible, so it is pleased to announce that parents and carers will be able to access more information about their child’s school day in the not-too-distant future using the app, which is designed for parental engagement.

New features will include a facility for parents and carers to take a pupil premium questionnaire to check eligibility for the school to claim up to £1,900 extra funding for their children’s education.

Attendance displays will show a child’s overall attendance percentage within the current school year. Attendance has a direct impact on success at school, and Budehaven expects all students to have an attendance of 96% or better. This will also list any absences for which an explanation is legally required, such as medical appointments.

The timetable will show the two-week cycle of lessons for the child, which will support the preparation for food tech classes, PE and other lessons, plus conversations about the day.

There will be a section for achievements to indicate a child’s achievements within the school and also a section making parents and carers aware of low-level behaviour issues that need addressing.
