A folkloric festival to commemorate the end of summer and the beginning of the dark of the year whilst honouring the Ancestors returns in Tintagel on Saturday, October 26.
It brings together Cornish Obby Osses and Welsh Mari Lwyds which culminates with them performing a traditional pwnco ceremony which is sung in both the Welsh and Cornish language.
Dancing and music is provided by Dark Morris sides which lasts from the afternoon until the evening.
The community event which takes place at Hallowtide each year is celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary this October. This autumn’s outing has an amazing line-up of performers including a performance from Takam, a Mexican troupe who will be sharing their Dia de los Muertos (aka The Day of the Dead) traditions with us.
Gates open from noon until 8pm. For more details and to purchase tickets, visit: www.thedarkgathering.co.uk
