A NEW and exciting ice lolly business in Bude is ensuring profits go to an important local cause, A Greener Bude.

Zach’s Ice Lolly Bar offers handcrafted and healthy ice lollies. Zaimar Williams, owner, and her partner have a two-year-old son, Zach, who loves ice cream and, with growing concerns about the amount of refined sugar and other additives that he could have been consuming, they decided to create their own healthy, but tasty, treats. They knew that there are lots of parents who also worry about their children’s health, so they began experimenting with recipes, mixing vegetables with fruits — and Zach loved it!

Zaimar uses cold pressed juices to retain all the vitamins and minerals from the fruit and vegetables, and they are not watered down.

They also add chia seeds on all of them, and use vegetables for the vibrant colours.

The lollies are free from refined sugar, dairy, lactose, soya and artificial colours and flavours. All of this means peace of mind for parents when giving their children a treat.

Zaimar said: “Our ice lollies are more than a treat — they are an amazing alternative for a snack!”

The fruity range on offer is very colourful, representing the colours of the rainbow. They are called ‘the red one’, made from strawberry and beetroot; ‘the orange one’, satsuma and carrot; ‘the yellow one’, orange and cucumber; ‘the green one’, lemon, lime and spinach; ‘the blue one’, banana and coconut milk with blue spirulina for the colouring; and ‘the purple one’, which is made with blueberries and coconut milk.

For those craving something a little more creamy, they offer ‘Zach’s Favourite One’, a chocolate lolly; and ‘The Naughty One’, a cream tea flavoured lolly.

A new business in Bude means benefits for a vital community group. Zaimar said: “One of our core values is community, which means that we will focus on supporting local businesses like us to grow.

“Aligned to this value, we are proud to donate a percentage of our profits made from selling the green ice lolly, to A Greener Bude, which is the colour of their logo.”
