A planning application has been submitted for the Bencoolen car park in Bude.

PA22/01671 involves works to trees in a conservation area (CA), to include felling a willow tree (G101).

Proposed works are to reinstate the existing flood defence embankment on behalf of the Environment Agency under Permitted Development authority.

The works involve topping up the existing embankment by ~100mm – 200mm.

The proposal includes felling the northernmost willow tree if alignment of embankment reinstatement works cannot accommodate it.

Bude & Stratton Town Council have noted the application.
