Launceston has a well earned and respected reputation when it comes to musical events.

A ‘first’ will be achieved on Saturday, November 25 when Launceston Male Voice Choir will be hosting the nationally acclaimed Cornish based Ladies Acapella Choir the ‘Gracenotes’.

The concert will take place in Launceston Central Methodist Church will commence at 7pm (doors open 6.30pm).

Entry will be free with a retiring collection, the proceeds will be in aid of the Motor Neurones Disease Foundation. The Gracenotes were formed in 1990 and their four part harmonies unaccompanied music has won them many prizes in national competitions for quality, diversity and entertainment.

Their members of more than 30 singers come from all over Cornwall, Devon, and Plymouth.

The repertoire will feature pieces ranging from ‘Barber Shop’ to classical choral items, all in four part harmony.

Launceston Male Voice Choir will share the evening, with the Gracenotes and shall be featuring some new pieces from their own repertoire, under their resident musical director Jonathan Mann.

There has been considerable local interest in this event which should be both memorable and enjoyable to all lovers of choral entertainment.
