TEN runners from Bude recently made the trip to Bath to compete in the Bath Half Marathon in aid of Talan’s Trust.

Thankfully the wind ran out of puff and the sun shone bright and early, and there was not a rain cloud in sight.

At 11am sharp, the runners set off and the fastest to complete was done and dusted in one hour, three minutes. Talan’s Trust’s runners were a little longer, but there were amazing times from them all — eight sub two hours and two a tad over.

Sarah Penny, who founded the charity following the loss of her son Talan Penny who had lived with the rare cancer rhabdomyosarcoma, said: “These wonderful people have between them raised thousands for Talan’s Trust, with two still to do their event — Richard Harris is hosting a cream tea at Hollabury Hall, Hollabury Road, on Easter Saturday, April 20, and Ella Henwood is hosting a disco at BED nightclub on Friday, April 12, all welcome.”

The total amount of money will be announced at the end of April. For more information about the charity, visit their new website https://talanstrust.org
