MEMBERS of beach clean group Widemouth Task Force have been working hard yet again with their most recent beach clean being a triumph.

On Sunday, April 8, 32 Surfers Against Sewage and Widemouth Task Force volunteers, including representatives from the Environment Agency, BDMLR members and a student doing his Prince’s Trust environment project, took to the beaches in the Widemouth Bay area, near Bude, to rid the areas of plastic, litter and rubbish.

With the weather working in their favour, the group collected 19kg of rubbish from the dunes, hedges and beaches. There were some interesting finds — including a family of slow worms nesting beneath a black bag, and a toy soldier.
