LAUNCESTON Ladies will look to bounce back when they visit Cheltenham Tigers Seconds in the Women’s Championship South West Two division tomorrow afternoon (3.30pm).
On a rare weekend where they are playing on a Saturday, they head to Gloucestershire off the back of a 31-24 defeat to Guildford Gazelles, although they did at least secure two bonus points for their efforts.
After back-to-back promotions, the step up into unchartered territory will surely take some time, however seven points from a possible 10 represents a really good start.
The Tigers started their campaign with a 53-12 reversal at Newbury Blues last Sunday, the side Guildford had lost 39-19 to in their opener.
For Launceston, all away trips with the exception of Ivybridge and Cullompton are lengthy, however it will no doubt serve them well in the long run.
For tomorrow’s clash, 14 of last weekend’s starting XV retain their places, the exception being Katie Gilmour who is a like-for-like replacement for lock Rhian Thomas.
Thomas is one seven replacements which again includes player/coach Alex Hutchings.
LAUNCESTON LADIES: Jess Bartlett, Madi Vine, Meg Tucker, Abbie Smith, Ellen Armstrong, Rachel Hicks, Amy Warman; Libbie Cole, Jenna Arnold, Kim Upcott (capt); Meg Arnold, Katie Gilmour; Nicole Rowland, Caitlyn Hancock, Briony Eddy. Replacements: Ann-Marie Risdon, Jess Harrison, Josie Ninnis, Alex Hutchings, Grace Tucker, Lydia Duke, Rhian Thomas.
