IN JUNE of this year Barry Brett, a chef at the Camelot Hotel in Bude, suffered a heart attack. The Cornwall Air Ambulance was in the air within minutes and flew Barry to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, where he received emergency treatment. Barry has now recovered and has returned to work at the Camelot but without the air ambulance he would certainly not be with us now. Hawkers Restaurant at the Camelot has a dining club where members pay a membership fee of £10 which entitles them to 10 per cent discount on their meals. The membership fees are donated entirely to charity, and given the events of the summer it seemed appropriate to make the latest donation to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
