AT A RECENT meeting of Bude Pub Watch the members once again took a firm line with those who cause problems on licensed premises or cause alcohol related anti-social behaviour in public.

In total three individuals received six-month bans and two individuals received three-month bans. A further three individuals received interim bans pending further information. Five other individuals will be receiving warning letters.

Sgt Lynden Hughes of the Bude Neighbourhood Policing team said: "Once again I am grateful for the work of Bude Pub Watch. They have become an experienced group who proportionately and consistently consider alcohol related issues in the area. Having sat in on many of their meetings their decisions and sanctions are not taken lightly.

"Their decisions are always supported by evidence, a robust debate and well documented. The town CCTV system is now picking up alcohol related incidents that occur around the town, incidents that are being reported back to the licensees for consideration. It is no longer the case that those that would blight our community on Friday and Saturday nights can misbehave when they leave licensed premises and expect no consequences. If we see these individuals on CCTV we will trace them and Bude Pub Watch will ban them."
