ACTS from Budehaven Community School recently played to a packed house at a charity music event at the Preston Gate Inn, Poughill, in aid of local music therapy charity, Sound Waves South West (SWSW).

Kath Morrison, music teacher at Budehaven school, started the evening with her version of the 60s classic, 'Hello Mary Lou' accompanied by Odinn Bates on mandolin and Jan Deis-Horton (guitar tutor) on guitar. Odinn then performed two classical guitar pieces.

Jim Keir displayed the talent which has made him a semi-finalist in Radio 1's Live and Unsigned competition, giving a new take on Simon and Garfunkel's 'The Boxer' as well as a lively rendition of Newton Faulkner's 'Clouds' and a set of three more songs, including 'Blackbird' by The Beatles.
