BUDEHAVEN Community School students celebrated their A Level and BTEC examination results last Thursday.

Headteacher, Tracey Reynolds said: “We are very proud of this year group. They have been the first cohort where all of their courses were assessed at the end of two years with tough examinations. So it has been particularly rewarding to see their smiling faces this morning as they collected their results, especially those who have achieved so much having faced adversity this year.

“I am also delighted that so many students achieved top grades of A*, A and Distinctions. The results today mean that most students have secured places at their first choice universities.”

“Our students have worked very hard to achieve these grades and I am so pleased that this set of results will now enable them to realise their ambitions. Some students have faced real adversity this year and their determination and resilience means they now have grades that are a real credit to them.

“It has been particularly rewarding to see them collect their results today. Our students now leave us with a great foundation for the next stage in their lives.”

Chair of governors, Laura Mead, praised the work of the staff at the school that has led to the continued success of Sixth Form students.

She said: “The governors are very proud of the students. We know that their grades are the result of their hard work and a committed staff who have supported them with high quality specialist teaching and strong pastoral guidance.
