FIRE crews were called to reports of a chemical spillage in North Cornwall in the afternoon of March 13.

It transpired that a chemical gas had been released after the mixture of three different products.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “Call received from Ambulance to request our attendance to chemical spillage in North Cornwall.

“On arrival crews confirmed a mixer of three different products leading to chemical gas being released.

“Crews used breathing apparatus and a gas monitor to check for hazardous fumes. Crew made the scene safe and handed the incident over to a site specialist.”
