THE owner of a two year old black and white border collie which has gone missing from Morwenstow, is appealing for people to keep a look out for her.
Brooke, who has a broad white stripe on her head and white muzzle, front, belly and legs and wears a blue collar, has been missing from Gooseham, Morwenstow since Sunday, May 24.
Her owner Debbie Hamilton is desperate to find her: "We feel that she is out there somewhere so are appealing to everyone to keep a look out for her."
Debbie explained: "Brooke ran off into the woods next to our fields with her mother Truffle. Her mum returned a couple of hours later without her. We can only assume that she ran on and got herself lost. It was a bank holiday weekend so she could have been picked up by someone or followed walkers.
"We have had two positive sightings, the first was on Sunday, May 31 when she followed a group of people walking from Woolsery to the Merry Harriers Nursery. She was then seen the following weekend, June 6/7 just outside Hartland at Rosedown."
Apart from a couple of drivers seeing a dog in this area at this time, there have been no other positive sightings since.
If anyone else thinks they may have seen her Debbie would be extremely grateful for a call on 01288 331204.
Alternatively anyone suspecting a dog they have seen is lost can report it to the dog warden and/or DogLost to see if it matches any of their records.
Debbie has found the people at DogLost (http://www.doglost.co.uk">www.doglost.co.uk) to be very helpful, giving up a lot of their time to help, reassure and advise on the best way to find her missing dog. They provide this service free of charge as they genuinely want to help.
Debbie said: "We are not alone as there are many other dogs missing in Devon and Cornwall, details of which are on DogLost's website."
