THE snowdrop weekend at an historic house near Bodmin was an avalanche of success, raising thousands for charity.

A spokesperson for Friends of Pencarrow House said: “Following their snowdrops weekend at Pencarrow House and Gardens in February, The Friends of Pencarrow presented each of this year’s two partner charities with a cheque for £2,333.

This year’s beneficiaries were The Cove, Macmillan Support Centre at The Royal Cornwall Hospital and Maria’s Animal Shelter. The presentations were made during a beautiful sunny day at The Friends’ Bluebell and Garlic Sunday.

“The next event will be a Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Sunday, May 25 where visitors will be invited to bring their teddies to a picnic in the grounds. Information about all events at Pencarrow can be found on their website.”
