ON behalf of Launceston Memory Café, Cym Downing was delighted to receive a cheque from the local Day Lewis Pharmacy.
The store staff, Francesco Ciulla, Katie Bassett, Katie Bower, Clare Barriball and Davina Barnett wanted to raise money for a local charity and chose the Memory Café after hearing so much about the café from customers and local residents.
A raffle was organised and the staff raised the fantastic amount of £109.91. This amount will be matched by the company Day Lewis, bringing the grand total to £219.82.
A spokesperson from the Memory Café said: “Many thanks to the staff of the Launceston branch of Day Lewis for organising this and for the very generous donation which will be used for activities and outings.”
Although the Memory Café has been unable to open during the COVID situation they are very much looking forward to seeing everyone as soon as government and NHS advice allows. Details of the opening date will be published in the Post in due course.
