AN outline planning application by Bowood Golf Club to develop houses at Bowood Park, Lanteglos has been refused.

Planners said the proposed dwellings extended into open countryside not allocated for residential development. There was also no offer of affordable housing.

The rejection notice also said that insufficient information had been provided to demonstrate that the development would not further increase the phosphate levels in the River Camel; to demonstrate it would not result in the flood risk being increased in the area and to demonstrate that it would leave the natural environment on the site in a measurably better state.
