The royalty for this year’s Launceston Carnival has been announced.

With the year almost half way done, it’s time for carnivals across the county to start hanging their bunting and inflating their bouncy castles.

Like many other parts of Cornwall, Launceston will be hosting its very own carnival later this year. The event will take place on Saturday, October 7, and will include the annual procession through the town, with 16 different classes for people to enter as well as plenty of activities to get involved with.

However, every carnival must have its queen and the organisers of Launceston Carnival have announced who is taking on the role this year, as well as her two attendants.

Jessica Heywood has been named as this year’s Carnival Queen, while, Daisy Cornish and Rafaela Holden have been awarded the role of the Queen’s Attendants.

The trio are set to start their royal duties from carnival day later this year.
