A DISTRICT council has asked residents to make sure that their recycling and household waste to be outside their properties earlier after a recent change in scheduling.
In an announcement to residents in the area that they provide the refuse collection services, the council has also issued guidance on how to avoid missing the collection.
Torridge District Council says it is reminding residents that all household waste and recycling must be presented by the earlier time of 6am on the scheduled day of collection.
This change aligns with updated crew schedules and is intended to improve the efficiency and reliability of collection services. To prevent missed collections, residents are advised to place their waste and recycling out the night before or no later than 6am on their scheduled collection date.
To help crews complete their rounds safely and effectively, all containers, including recycling boxes, garden waste bins and black bags, should be positioned kerbside in a clearly visible and easily accessible location. Please also secure all waste and recycling to prevent it from blowing away or attracting animals.
The councillor responsible for the operational services at the council said that the changes were to help the authority’s refuse crews to work more efficiently, reducing the risk of missed collections and all with the aim of keeping the area clean and well serviced.
Cllr Chris Leather, lead member for operational services at Torridge District Council, said: "To help support our excellent waste and recycling teams, we're asking everyone to ensure their bins are placed out by 6am on collection days.
“This simple step helps our crews work efficiently, reduces the risk of missed collections and keeps our local area clean and well-serviced. We appreciate the continued support from residents in helping us make these services as effective as possible."
