TWO teams from Porth-Emmet (Bude) Explorer Scout Unit took part in ‘Kernopoly’ on June 25 — a game of monopoly played all across Cornwall and the teams can only travel across the county using trains and buses.
Unlike in the game of Monopoly where you buy properties, the teams have a list of properties that they travel to and then have to take a team selfie. They then earn points of differing values depending on which properties they went to. Leaders are then positioned across the county with chance cards so teams can earn more points, lose points or go to jail.
Twenty-four teams from across the county took part and the two teams from Porth-Emmet (Bude) took first and second place.
The Explorers were over the moon with the result and are already looking forward to next year’s event.
The unit expressed its thanks to the organisers for a brilliant event.
