HOLSWORTHY Hamlets Parish Council has hosted the first part of its annual litter pick and parish clean up.

On Saturday, May 4, volunteers came together, giving up their time to help keep their parish looking tip top.

Teams of residents spent their sunny Saturday morning on the early May Bank Holiday, helping to clean up the parish by picking up litter in Staddon Road, Chasty and Winterland Lane.

Volunteers were provided with high viz jackets, litter pickers and bin bags. A huge amount of litter was collected from the roadside and the verges.

Following their efforts, the volunteers from all the areas met up for well-earned teas, coffees and biscuits.
