ONE Post reader has captured the stunning ‘wolf moon’ seen in the sky on Friday evening, January 10.
Reader Reg Godwin, who captured the pictures, said: “I had been doing some hedging at Tamarstone near Pancrasweek. As the light faded at 5pm, I packed up my tools and headed for home. I was immediately struck by the size and colour of the moon. Fortunately I had my camera with me and managed to take a few shots before the moon disappeared behind the clouds.
“At home, I turned on the TV to hear all about the wolf moon which was supposed to peak at 7pm to 10pm. When I checked the moon again at that time, I could see no difference from the usual moon. It was just a big full moon with a normal colour.
“For the technically minded, the wolf moon photo was taken hand-held with a Lumix FZ82 camera, aperture f5.9, speed 1/125th of a second and ISO 400. The camera was set to auto mode and the zoom lens focal length was 215mm, equivalent to 2400mm on a 35mm format. There has been no post-production alteration of the wold moon image and just a few contrast adjustments of the normal moon photo which used a tripod.”
