BUDE Bowling Club’s 88th annual dinner was held at the Brendon Arms on Saturday, October 27.

President Sue Plumstead welcomed members and guests along with guest of honour Mark McManus from Adventure International and his partner Tracy Joslyn.

Grace was said by vice-president Brian Wonnacott before he proposed the Loyal Toast after a very good dinner.

Secretary Richard March introduced Mark who thanked Sue for the great welcome and wished the club every success in the future.

He said how they have supported several local clubs and would continue to do so in the future.  After speaking of what near neighbours Adventure International are to the bowling green, Mark proposed the toast to the club.

In response, president Sue thanked Mark for giving up his time to attend the dinner and congratulated all the members for their successes during the season before thanking everyone for their support during her two years as president.

She also thanked Cynthia May and Tricia Dixon for organising the event before thanking the staff of the Brendon Arms for the meal.

Cynthia presented Tracy with an orchid on behalf of the club and thanked her and Mark for Adventure International’s continuing sponsorship before Mark was invited to present the trophies.
