BUDE Bowling Club’s opening day of the 2024 season on Saturday got off to a dry with a little sun, but windy start.
President Bill Dixon did the opening speech, welcoming members old and new and introducing David Stephens from Sam Edwards Garage, who are a club sponsor, to officially open the green by bowling the first wood of the season, after which a short roll up of Asix ends were played.
A good turnout of 25 players and 17 social members/spectators provided an excellent occasion for everyone.
Refreshments were enjoyed afterwards, as were a drink or two at the bar.
A club spokesperson said: “We are looking forward to another very busy season and looking forward to seeing everyone again in the league and friendly matches.
“Also a thank you to Nigel Worth for manning the bar. Any one of any age who would like to try bowling are very welcome to this very friendly club.”
