THERE appears to be a Noah’s Ark theme to Callington Town’s signings at the moment — they are being announced two by two, writes Nigel Walrond.

Following on from the arrival of goalkeepers Brodie Cole and Jordan Duffey, manager Matt Hayden has now added four more players to his new-look South West Peninsula League Premier West squad, which not surprisingly has a very heavy ex-St Blazey theme about it, given he was joint manager there last season.

Strikers Luke Cloke and Jack Alexander have signed for the East Cornish side and Hayden is excited by the prospect: “Both Luke and Alex have turned down offers from other clubs to join me at Callington.

“They both add incredible quality to the forward line.”

And they are joined by two full-backs — Matty Edwards and Jordan Powell.

“We are delighted to welcome Matty and Jordan to the club,” said Hayden. “Both are seasoned campaigners and operate at a very good and consistent level.”
