FAST-improving Launceston made it ten goals and six points in three days as they followed Wednesday’s emphatic 6-1 win at Camelford with a 4-1 victory over newly-promoted Stoke Gabriel at Pennygillam last Saturday.
The Clarets came flying out of the traps and were two goals in front after 15 minutes thanks to Sam Davey and Ruben Kane, with the latter tapping in Jack Alexander’s excellent cross.
The resilient visitors halved the deficit after 41 minutes when striker Ollie Critchlow neatly controlled a right-wing cross before poking the ball past advancing Clarets keeper, Ollie Chenoweth.
Any Launceston anxiety was greatly diminished immediately after the break when Kane turned in a Davey cross and the Clarets confirmed another excellent victory on the hour when the lively Chris Head fired home from close range.
Launceston are at home for the third successive Saturday this weekend when they welcome Witheridge to Pennygillam (3pm).

THE?Camels’ difficult start continued on Saturday with a thumping 5-0 defeat at The Mill.
After losing 6-1 in the local derby to Launceston, manager Reg Hambly would have been hoping to keep things tight early on, however Connor Rush put Torpoint a goal up inside four minutes before adding a second before the break.
Rush then provided the cross for Curtis Damerell to head in on 48 minutes before Damerell set up Kirk Smith for the fourth.
It was 5-0 before the end as Damerell grabbed his second of the afternoon.

Callington Town 2
LUKE Avis-Riordan scored an 86th winner to keep new manager Dean Cardew’s 100% winning start intact.
Witheridge had lost 11-0 at Tavistock in midweek but looked set for a point after Archie Reay cancelled out Lewis Jago’s 36th minute opener.
A draw would have been a fair result, however Avis-Riordan curled in a 25-yard screamer to spark wild scenes in the away end and make the long journey home seem that much sweeter.

Holsworthy 3
THREE first-half goals ensured that Holsworthy left Blaise Park with all three points to ensure they remain unbeaten after two games.
Tom Robinson’s second goal in as many games, plus strikes from Adam Smith and Oltian Arriku out the Magpies 3-0 up against the Green and Blacks.
A couple of tactical tweaks ensured that St Blazey were much improved in the second 45, and they were given a monumental boost when visiting goalkeeper Ryan Chadwick was sent-off for handling outside the area.
Eliot Rendle then made it 3-1 with 19 minutes to go, and although Ryan Yeoman was sent-off for the home side, Jake Harris’ curler set up a grandstand finish.
Despite St Blazey’s best efforts, Holsworthy held on for their first win of the season.

SALTASH United cantered to a well deserved win over an out of sorts Callington at Ginsters Marshfield Parc.
Rhys Walton, Scott Coombe, and Frazer Ferris’ brace put the visitors in control while Ricky Coton fired home what turned out to be a consolation for the home side.

Torpoint Athletic 8
DARREN Hicks scored four times as Torpoint Athletic stunned Pensilva.
Amazingly, the home side were 3-0 down at half-time after giving away three penalties, all of which were converted by Hicks.
Luke Doddridge added a fourth before Hicks showed his class from free-kicks, as he belted in a fourth.
Torpoint were then awarded a fourth penalty, which Ben Waters converted.
With his tail now up, Waters added a further brace to join Hicks in the hat-trick club.

Mevagissey 3
STEVEN Hill scored with the last kick of the game as the Seasiders enjoyed their second 4-3 victory in three days by beating Mevagissey at Broadclose Park.
The visitors took the lead in the fourth minute when Ben Bould rose highest to head home.
The lead only lasted five minutes as first team player/manager Ryan Leverton pounced on a clever free-kick from Laurie Turpin to drive home from 12- yards.
Martin Flynn then latched on to a Hayden White cross to put Bude ahead at the break.
The second-half started with controversy as Ryan Lavery converted a corner, which looked to have gone out of play to make it 2-2.
Bude where ahead again through Turpin who headed home Jack Oxley’s pinpoint cross. The North Cornwall side were pegged back again with seven minutes to go as substitute Bill Trugian poked home from close range.
There was still time for more drama as substitute Steven Hill showed good strength when running on to a Leverton throughball to drill the ball into the back of the net with the last kick of the game and seal a famous win.

TEN goals in three days for Morwenstow as Norman Foster’s hat-trick helped inspire the North Cornwall side to victory at Mount Wise.
The first-half was tight with Jordan Burrell and Foster on target for each side.
Whatever was said in the visitors changing room at half-time paid dividends as Foster scored his second before Perry Pawsey brought the Peppermints level.
Foster grabbed his hat-trick before Scott Percy, Gary Walter and Will Bryant made the game safe.

FOLLOWING?relegation from the Premier Division, St Teath’s season has started slowly as this defeat to Lanreath ensured a second successive defeat.
The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes through Ben Kingston before Jay Hussey doubled the advantage before half-time.
Jamie Strout’s ferocious drive hit the bar for St Teath before Kingston killed off the contest midway through the second-half.
