LAUNCESTON have made three changes from last Saturday’s superb victory over Chew Valley for tomorrow’s derby at Okehampton in Regional One South West (2pm).
The All Blacks will make the short trip up the A30 looking for revenge from September’s heavy home defeat to the Okes, who themselves are firmly in a relegation battle despite a remarkable turnaround in form.
Andy Knight is available again after illness but is only the bench as joint head coaches Ian Goldsmith stick with a front row three of Ethan Pearce-Cowley, Levent Bulut and Mitch Hawken, while lock Jake Crabb is available again to start and comes in for Alex Bartlett who drops to the bench.
Brandon Rowley returns to his favoured number eight slot after a couple of weeks in the centre which means Tom Bottoms is left out in place of Jack Statton who is back for the weekend from university in Cardiff.
The other change is at scrum-half as Tom Sandercock is away which means a recall for Adam Collings after a fortnight out with concussion suffered against Brixham.
Okehampton looked dead and buried before Christmas but have won five of their last six games.
They are level on points with Weston-super-Mare having played a game less and sit two points clear of Old Centralians, meaning every point is vital with just four games to go.
Launceston probably need one more win to be safe, but don’t have the best record at the Showground in recent years, meaning the game is set up to be a cracker.
LAUNCESTON at Okehampton: James Tucker, Archie Dinnis, Conrad Burne, Jack Statton, Dan Pearce, Glenn Coles, Adam Collings; Ethan Pearce-Cowley, Levent Bulut, Mitch Hawken, Leion Cole, Jake Crabb, George Bone, Lloyd Duke (capt), Brandon Rowley. Replacements: Andy Knight, Alex Bartlett, Tom Bottoms.
