THE Junior Boys at Launceston Tennis Club competed in the 2015 Club Championships for the Singles Title on Thursday, August 20.

Seven boys competed in the junior boys singles — unfortunately the qualifiers challenge due to be held the day before was cancelled due to the rain.

In group A, Will Heard, Chris Thorns, Joseph Tucker and Josh Cavey competed with Will winning the group and Joseph runner-up.

In group B, Henry Cornish, Ben Bryant and Sam Tucker competed with Henry winning the group and Sam runner-up.

In two extremely close semi-finals Will defeated Sam in the deciding tie break 8-6; and Joseph defeated Henry, also in a deciding tie-break 9-7.

In the final Will’s strength of shot was too strong for Joseph and he retained his junior boys title for the second year running.
