On Tuesday, March 15, Devon and Cornwall Police and Cornwall Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team were granted a ‘Closure Order’ at a property in Bodmin closing the property for three months.

This means it will be a criminal offence for anyone, other than the owners, Sanctuary Housing, to enter the property during this period.

Devon and Cornwall Police, working in partnership with the Police Force Legal Team, Cornwall Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team and Sanctuary Housing applied for the order after the tenant repeatedly ignored advice and warnings including a ‘Partial Closure Order’ to maintain his tenancy. The tenant continued to allow anti-social behaviour causing ongoing nuisance and disorder.

This order will come as welcome news to many local residents who have been victims of continual anti-social behaviour and nuisance arising from this property.

Inspector Regie Butler-Card from Bodmin Police Station said: “This is a fantastic result and sends a clear message that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and together with our partners we will continue to use all legal remedies to protect our communities. If you are experiencing anti-social behaviour where you live, please get in touch with us.”
