POLICE have urged people to avoid the A39 near Bude after a three-vehicle road traffic collision.

It comes after reports of an incident on the A39 in Jacobstow, near Bude with the ambulance service also called to the scene.

Two people are believed to have sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area or seek an alternative route.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called shortly after 9.45am today, Friday, August 1, to a report of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the A39 in Jacobstow near Bude. The ambulance service was also called.

“Two people are believed to have sustained minor injuries.

“We are aware that there is significant traffic as a result of the collision and would ask people to avoid the area or seek an alternative route where possible.”
