UPCOMING changes to local buses are hoping to improve connections for students between several North Cornwall towns.

From Monday, April 15, changes to local bus routes hope to improve services for young people travelling to school, particularly between Launceston and Callywith College.

Changes will see the number 12, 178 and 176 take students from Bude towards Launceston.

Callywith College have informed students of the changes and hope that these have been designed to improve the ‘reliability and capacity’ of connections on the school run.

A spokesperson for the college said: “Students from Whitstone and all stops prior to Launceston should continue to use service 12, however, the 12 will no longer divert via Prince Philip Estate in Launceston.

“Students then transfer to the 176 in Westgate Street, departing at 8.23am.

“Students travelling from the Callington area will change buses at Launceston Tesco (main road) onto the 176 due at 8.28am.

“The 177 will depart Holsworthy 5 minutes earlier and operate via Launceston College (to drop off students from Prince Philip Estate).”
