THE Flower Festival at St Swithin’s Church, Launcells, is always a favourite because of the church — an ancient church, with Saxon, Norman, and Civil War history.
This year the theme was ‘Our Queen’s Commonwealth’.
The congregation and parishioners are proud to show their love of flowers in their amazing arrangements.
The arrangement at the altar was appropriate this year as it was showing our ‘United Kingdom’.
The Archdeacon of Bodmin attended and enjoyed a delicious meal. Their chef is Dee Wynne-Morter and she organises the kitchen.
Those involved with the flower festival expressed their thanks to her and Rose Harwood and the kitchen volunteers.
Thanks were also extended to those who were stewards guiding people around the displays.
During the days there were organists who played a variety of soft music which added to the ambiance.
Visitors enjoyed the flowers, music and food.
On Sunday evening there was a ‘Songs of Praise’ which was well attended. Thanks were expressed to all those who were involved in this, one of their most successful of flower festivals.
Special thanks were also expressed to Helen Barnes who was the organiser, and to the brilliant flower arrangers.
