A HOLSWORTHY man has been given a suspended jail sentence after an assault on a farm worker.
Daniel Honey, 35, of Staddon Road in Holsworthy pleaded guilty to inflicting grevious bodily harm in November 2024.
The incident happened during a post-carnival party held in the Holsworthy Memorial Hall.
In the aftermath of the incident, the victim was left with a fractured skull and was required to take leave from work.
At the hearing, held at Exeter Magistrates Court, District Judge Stuart Smith heard how Mr Honey inflicted the injuries during the incident, with it being reported that the perpetrator inflicted a single punch on the victim.
Mr Honey was sentenced to 18 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 12 months and ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
