TEENAGERS from Crackington Haven, buoyed by the support of an 80-year-old grandmother, completed a cycle ride on Saturday held to raise funds in support of a campaign they hope will see them with a playing field of their own.

The sponsored cycle ride along the Camel Trail, from Wadebridge to Padstow was the brain child of Mrs Doreen Beecroft, who wanted to help the youngsters help themselves in providing their own park.

Despite some inclement weather, five children and five adults took part in the ride — with Sean Wilcox, Isaac Stevens, George Gregory James and Michael Sessions accompanied by fathers Kevin Wilcox and Jes Stevens, alongside parish councillor and Crackington Institute Trustee Annie Robinson and her adult family.
