BRIGHT lights in the name of the start of Christmas came to the town which is best known for its striking historical surrounds.
The Launceston Christmas lights event saw the residents of the town turn out in their droves to enjoy a vast range of festive entertainment, culminating in the switching on of the Christmas lights by the town’s carnival royalty.
Father Christmas was also in attendance amid a busy schedule and was ably assisted by the deputy mayor of the town, Cllr John Conway.
In the build-up to the event, a decorated window competition was run by the council and three winners were declared. The Air Ambulance shop came in first, with the Byre in second and Kromatika completing the podium places with their displays.
