HOLSWORTHY?Community College Principal David Fitzsimmons says he is 'pleased' to report stronger results across more subjects following this year's GCSE results. This was most notable amongst candidates in graphic design with 95% obtaining A* to C grades. Several subjects achieved over 70% A*to C, including geography with 71% A* to C in the new more demanding examinations, after a disappointing set of results in 2013, and history with 73%. Food technology was again over 70%, as was German. Two thirds of the cohort achieved a higher level pass in maths. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
