THE deadline for community groups to apply to its town council for funding grants is rapidly approaching.

Holsworthy Town Council, like many town and parish councils operates a system whereby local organisations and groups can apply for one of a limited number of grants to help them with their efforts.

A spokesperson for Holsworthy Town Council said: “Each year the town council provide a number of small grants to support projects and services run by local community or voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations where the group’s activities will contribute to, and be of benefit to, the life or community of the town and the people of Holsworthy.

“These grants are limited and are made available to organisations that can demonstrate a need for assistance.

“The grants can be used to help with equipment costs, activities or in some cases help with the day-to-day running and operation costs.

“Full details about the scheme including who can apply, what grants can be provided for and the application form, policy and guidelines can be obtained from: Holsworthy Town Council, Manor Offices, North Road, Holsworthy, EX22 6DJ.
