Kevin Wadland of Launceston (pictured right) has been a volunteer for Hospital Radio Plymouth for 39 years and at their AGM in March was presented with the Winnie Putt Award for his work with the station by interviewing people for shows, especially ‘Wired for the Weekend’ which is presented by Andrew Hill between 10am and 11am on Saturdays.

Kevin started his interviewing skills with Radio Beacon at St Lawrence Hospital in Bodmin. His recent interview is with Zahra Ahmadi, a local actor from Plymouth, who starred in ‘Beyond Paradise’, which has proved a hit with television audiences.

Keith Jolley, station manager, said: “The interviews are always so knowledgeable, so people in hospital, care and residential homes can have a connection with events that have happened in Launceston and surrounding areas.
