There was a huge turn out for the Bude Remembrance parade and service at Shalder Hill on Sunday.

The president of the Bude and Stratton branch, Alan Litchfield, who is 97 and a D-day Veteran, deserves individual mention, as he proudly made it up on to Shalder hill to lay a wreath.

Thanks were expressed to the chairman Godfrey Harrison who was sadly too poorly to attend, but who has ably organised proceedings for years.

Thanks were also expressed to Dave Worth, deputy chairman and Poppy Appeal Organiser for the branch. He gave up a week of work in order to organise and man the Poppy Appeal stall in town for the week, as well as organising staff to man a stall in Morrisons for a week.

It was a fitting service in remembrance of the fallen.
