Children in Launceston have been keeping busy this summer with activities run by Launceston Library.
More than 500 children, from 16 local schools have signed up to take part in this year’s sports themed reading challenge, ‘Ready! Set! Read!’
Those who have taken on the programme of completing six books, in an effort to keep their reading steady and improving their ability, before September 16, say they have enjoyed the challenge.
As well as stickers, medals, and certificates, the key prize of this year’s event has been a swim voucher to use up at Launceston Leisure Centre.
A spokesperson from the library said: “Local partnerships like this have been the core success of this years event, with offers like Kids Eat Free at the Gateway Centre, a Toy Swap with Recycling for Charity, The Orchard Centres donation of sports and help from Harry and Izzi- Oriel Ministries youth workers.”
