DRIVERS are set for a 28-mile diversion as part of upcoming roadworks between Callington and Launceston.

Motorists have been given advanced warning after plans have been revealed for five nights of works along the A388 to make way for road maintenance in the coming months.

Between November 23 and November 28, Cornwall Council plans to undertake maintenance and gully emptying along the road between the B3362 slip road at Lawhitton and the A390 roundabout in Callington.

Works are set to take place between 7pm and 6am, leaving evening drivers looking for alternative routes or following a lengthy diversion.

The massive diversion spans more than 28 miles and is set to add around 50 minutes to driving times. Those travelling south will be directed via the B3362 towards Milton Abbot before joining the A390 at Gullworthy Cross, travelling through St Ann’s Chapel before entering Kelly Bray.
