A NEW housing estate has been completed in Bude - although the large family houses a short distance away from the coastline will set you back over half a million pounds.
Legacy Properties, a Cornish based housebuilder has confirmed it has completed its development known as Upton Green.
The completion marks the latest milestone for the family-owned Cornish housebuilder following strong demand for the development, which combines contemporary, energy-efficient homes with a coastal location just 500 metres from the North Cornwall coastline.
Upton Green includes a mix of open-market and affordable homes, with the latter delivered in partnership with Westward Housing to support local housing need.
The development offers direct footpath access into Bude town centre and its beaches, allowing residents to walk straight from their front door and follow the canal route or coastal path into town. Summerleaze Beach, Bude Sea Pool and the South West Coast Path are all easily accessible, while Widemouth Bay and the wider North Cornwall coast are nearby.
The available homes are four- and five-bedroom detached properties, with prices from £525,000 including a garage and private parking.
Mark Docherty, Sales Director at Legacy Properties, said: “Completing Upton Green is another proud milestone for Legacy, with the development also marking the delivery of our 250th home in Cornwall. It has been incredibly popular from the outset, with more than half of the open-market homes reserved within weeks of launch. We’re now down to the final three houses.

“The location has been a huge part of its appeal. Being able to leave your front door and walk directly down the coastal path and into Bude is pretty special, but buyers also want a home that works for everyday family life. Upton Green brings those things together, with generous living spaces, energy efficiency and the high specification people have come to expect from Legacy.”
