PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.

LAUNCESTON: There will be various prohibitions in Launceston between August 17 and August 28 in order to facilitate resurfacing works in the town.

The roads which are subject to the resurfacing works are Dutson Road between the junction of Newport Square and Ridgegrove Road, Newport Square between the junctions with St Stephen’s Hill and grid reference SX 32871 85101, West Bridge Road for its entire length, Roydon Road between the property known as Noosa and the junction with Dutson Road and St Stephen’s Hill between the junction with Maynes Close and Underhayes Lane.

Cornwall Council added in the order permitting the various changes: “Notice is further given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 3rd August 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily impose a stopping prohibition the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to stop as specified on the undermentioned length of road in Launceston.

“Where any vehicle is found to be in contravention of the Order it may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and may be removed from site.

“Roads subject to stopping prohibition - Dutson Road between the junctions with Newport Square and Ridgegrove Road, Newport Square, between the junction with St Stephens Hill and grid reference SX 32871 85101, West Bridge Road and St Stephens Hill for their entire length and Roydon Road between property known as Noosa and the junction with Dutson Road.”

There will also be another suspension of the one way system on St Stephen’s Hill.

It will permit traffic to go through the section of road in either direction from a point 22 yards to the South East of the junction with Mayne Close to a point that is 17 yards to the South East with Mayne Close between the junctions with Mayne Close and Dutson Road.

All of the prohibitions will be in place between 7pm and 6am.
