Convenience stores in North Cornwall and North Devon will closing early this evening as managers allow their staff to get home to see England play Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

Gilletts Callington Ltd which operate 89 SPAR stores in the South West region is closing all of its shops at 7.30pm.

A poster in one of the stores says: “It’s coming home….so we’re going home at 19.30 on Sunday 11 July.

“Our colleagues deserve some time off to watch the final, so we’re closing all our stores early.

“Thankyou for your understanding.”

Co-op stores across the country that normally open late will also be closing their doors at 7.45pm to enable employees to watch the game.

Meanwhile some schools have told parents that while the gates will be open at the usual time, children can come in later tomorrow morning if they’ve been up late to see the match.

Are you watching the final tonight – and where will you be? Let us know!
