A grant application to the Low Carbon Fund was successful and the residents of Stourscombe estate now have a new noticeboard.

The Stourscombe & Lawhitton Parish Noticeboard will be kept up to date with events and activities and matters relating to residents.

A local ‘Low Carbon Fund’ receives money generated by the wind turbine along Lawhitton Down and this is the first time the estate has applied for any funding from this pot.

Mayor of Launceston Cllr Helen Bailey, who has supported this initiative, said: “The events at Lawhitton Village Hall and the church will also be advertised and hopefully information about the Cricket Club will be received to ensure these facilities on this side of the bridge are supported and are of course within walking distance or a short drive.”

The noticeboard is situated beside the footpath on the main green on the estate near the Platinum Jubilee Bench and the soon to be fitted defibrillator.

If residents wish to have any notices, email [email protected] or post in an envelope marked ‘Noticeboard’ to 21 Snowdrop Crescent, Launceston PL15 9JS.
