A GROUP of students from Budehaven and Holsworthy schools will be helping to teach science and strengthen links with a school in Ethiopia during a visit later this year.

It has been eight years since Budehaven began its successful partnership with Assosa High School in Ethiopia, writes Hannah O'Leary, Year 12 student at Budehaven Community School.

The aim of the project was to create a strong relationship not just between the two schools, but with the communities in both Assosa and in Cornwall.

Six students from Budehaven and Holsworthy College are now preparing for a return trip in October and raising necessary funds.

Last year's trip included six eager Budehaven students who worked tirelessly with the students and community in Assosa during their week-long visit.

They continued to fulfill the aims of the project by contributing towards the teaching and learning within the school — and left their mark in the form of a bold mural on the wall of the high school, which they painted alongside the high school's students.
