MOTORISTS are being warned of delays after the Tamar Bridge and tunnel were closed in both directions because of an ongoing police incident this morning (Saturday, November 7).

The closure is currently in place, with drivers advised to avoid the route and expect disruption while emergency services deal with the incident.

A statement from the bridge operators at 8.06am said: “The Bridge and Tunnel are currently closed due to an ongoing police incident. Please anticipate delays, we will provide updates once the situation is resolved.”

Drivers are being urged to plan ahead and seek alternative routes until the crossing reopens.
