Ahead of the Jubilee weekend on Sunday, May 29, the Woburn Residents’ Association held their Jubilee ‘Barbecue on the Green’ to ensure as many people as possible could also support the many events taking place in Launceston.

Despite a showery start the weather cleared long enough for all who attended to really enjoy the burgers and hot dogs together with the various stalls.

Ken Beale, one of the Woburn Residents’ Association events organisers, said: “We were lucky enough to have some of the Town Band attending and they kept us musically entertained with a selection of light music throughout.

“The committee would like to thank all those who attended together with the army of volunteers who set up the tents etcetera and enabled us to raise £300 each for the Memory Café and Town Band.”

A date for the cheque presentations will be arranged shortly.
